Retail pharmacy treats pharmacists like slaves.....many independent pharmacies don't even cover benifits. I watched many pharmacists leave the field because of burn out. A pharmacy used to be a fun place to work.... And we did work hard. With pharmacists giving shots, then COVID, and the drug shortages and a strangelhold of insurance nonsense for drugs to be covered and the pharmacy to be reembursed. It is no longer fun.

I am in a confusion phase of my life because I am debating between fellowship and residency. I want to apply for fellowship, but I am afraid it is not for me. I am not exposed to industry at all and I have been trying to learn more about industry but I wasn't really successful. What kind of recommendation will you give to students like me?

I'm a retired pharmacist who worked in all fields of pharmacy & industry. This video is nonsense. Pharmacy is now an 8 yr committmment (& 9 or 10yrs if you go the residency route to become a specialized hospital pharmacist), not 6. Her points on networking, how to study, etc are all ridiculous. I hope a student thinking about pharmacy school doesn't listen to her.

I always dreamed of becoming a slave when I was young. Retail pharmacy was a perfect choice to get that done. There's easier ways to make a buck...just sayin.

These are great tips. But i'm currently feeling a burnout in response to not even getting interviews in the first place. It's just so tiresome to start yet another job application when I can spend multiple days tailoring the cover letter and resume, e-mail them, call them, just to be completely ignored. I'm in my 10th months of job search and I have never felt so apathetic

I have heared Pharm D is minimum degree to register in USA as a pharmacist. 2nd question: what are requirments to join pharma industry as a scientist in drug developments in USA?
